Comcast has an extremely slow upload speed tonight which is causing a malfunction in our files sent. Some of you may have noticed some things missing. I have spoken with Comcast and they have verified that they do have a problem. The earliest that Comcast will be able to provide any solution will be 200pm EST on Saturday Sept. 12. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Keep in mind that all the radars and tropical weather updates are up to date and will not be affected by this problem. Thanks.

Hey Chris,
I have Embarq, and it's the same thing this morning. The speed check is good, but websites are slow to load. FYI. Jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the report. Most of the data is updating now. Last night and this morning was pretty bad though. Data which normally processes in a few seconds was taking several minutes to upload. Hopefully it is corrected.

Yeah, mine is better now too. Comcast is much faster down and up than Embarq. For surfing, it's fast enough, but for downloads, I may go back to Comcast after seeing your speedtest!!!

Average Download Speed
3.03 Mb/s
Average Upload Speed
0.60 Mb/s

Jim,
Just out of curiosity, try running it from the Atlanta server. It seems to get the best results for me. It would be interesting to compare Comcast and Embarq from the same server location. I ran another test and my results are below. The upload seems to be holding which makes me happy. Wink

Same from Atlanta. This is what Embarq promises, so they are right on. I really see no difference when surfing. The difference is when downloading.

Average Download Speed
3.02 Mb/s
Average Upload Speed
0.62 Mb/s

everything seems to be running good now.

Yes, it does seem to be running normal again. There must have been a hiccup in the internet somewhere around our area which was causing the slow speeds. I will continue to monitor the issue and hopefully it does not return. Wink

Ok, well it appears this problem is not resolved. The upload speed has dropped an enormous amount in the past hour. Mad

Mine is the same, but this time of night on Comcast, there are more people online. That will slow things down. One disadvantage of cable, vs. DSL.
