A combination of wind shear, dry air, and cooler water temps are quickly taking it's toll on Ida. It's a deadly cocktail of doom for any tropical cyclone. The fact that Ida reached Cat 2 in the gulf in November is quite amazing.

Anyone care to hazard a guess of rainfall potential in Lee Co. from/as a result of Ida We're already January-dry so any precip would be welcomed but it'd be great to see several inches.

The main band in the eastern gulf needs to be watched. As Ida reaches the northern coast it should slow down and begin to move east which would move the large band also to the east. Also appears that Ida is trying to regain Hurricane status. Ida's last gasp and it wants to go out as a Hurricane. _________________ LOU

She almost did it but is running out of room quickly. What a powerful storm though to fight through all that mess in the Gulf!
Tomorrow should be an interesting day in SWFL as those rain bands should creep our way. Let's hope for a good soaking. _________________ Chris
