The 2012 Hurricane season is quickly approaching and the GFS wants it to start early.

May 9th 12Z GFS forecast for May 24.

Last night's 00Z Euro now showing SW Carib development at 240 hr. Today's 12Z GFS also continues to show SW Carib development beginning prior to 240 hr.

The GFS continues to show western Caribbean development with the time frame now down to 144 hours.

Here's the GFS for 5/30 and two images for 5/31. Apart from this is a possible spin-up in the short term also in the NW Carib as the GFS has been showing for the last week.

This is the short term spin-up that the GFS has been forecasting for about 8 days.
GFS at 60 hours.

The CMC and NOGAPS are also forecasting development in the NW Carib in the short term period.
