Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic in the Bahamas. Heat ridge with high pressure to North combined with lowering pressures in the Gulf as trof split heads SW to the Gulf (happening alot this year). Wave out near 70 could develop as it gets into this mess or like last week, something may try to develop along a boundary. Tough call, but the horses are coming to the gate and the race is going to start in the not too distant future............... _________________ No...I am not a tropical forecaster....But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once

Give it up about "every swirl off the coast of africa becoming another andrew".
Don't get overly excited on your forecast. We ALL KNOW SOOONER OR LATER SOMEWHERE, SOMETHING WILL DEVELOPE. YOUR LATEST POST IS AS LAME AS MINE AS TO" WATCH THE COAST OF AFRICA" . We are all becoming a little suspect waiting for something to develope.
You are much more knowledgeable then me but seem to be getting caught up in the expectation of things to come.

ALSO, BOUNDRIES ARE VERY RARE THIS TIME OF YEAR-BOUNDRIES BEING DYING FRONTS. CHARLIE WAS AN EXCEPTION AND RAN INTO SUCH A FRONT- 1ST TIME IN 40 SOME YEARS. SO VERY UNLIKELY ANYTHING WILL DEVELOPE ALONG AN OLD FRONTAL BOUNDRY AT THIS TIME- MORE LIKELY YO HAPPEN IN OCTOBER.

Firstly Bob, that saying is now my signature on all my posts.....not directed just towards you but towards anyone like TCC who want to develop every wave which has virtually no chance into a hurricane. Secondly, I am more knowledgeble then you because this is my profession and I study patterns and models for up to 16 hrs. a day. My posts ARE NOTHING like yours. You see a blob of clouds over Africa and make a post based on a satelite image. I see the whole picture............not because I am any brighter than you, but because I am trained to see the bigger picture. So when I say to look in the Gulf along a boundary, or in the Bahamas next week, it is not wishcasting like some other posts........it is because these areas are the most likely places for development in this pattern. I have used this forum from day 1 to discuss possibilities along with forecasts. Unlike the NHC forecasters (who I know for a fact see the same possibilities that I do) I can speculate here before something happens.............they really can't until things start to come together. Will something happen next week? Maybe............maybe not. But if you think I am just throwing crap into the wind like TCC does, then you know even less then you think you do.. The beauty of this forum is if you don't like my posts Bob...............don't read them _________________ No...I am not a tropical forecaster....But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once

Please don't compare me to TCC!!! I do have some basic knowledge.
Do you really think something will develope along an old boundery this week? Historically the answer is NO. I have been a member longer than you and have always respected your opinions as the most respected on the board. But please allow room for us amatuers as painfull as that might be for you. We will only grow as a board by allowing the expressions of opinions. I have known Chris for many years and he has done an outstanding job of building this site!
Looking forward to your future insights and forecasts

I agree that we are MUCH more likely to see development along a boundary in the Gulf than anything from across the ocean. We absolutely should see troughiness to the south and west of us within the next week or two and with this amount of heat built up in the Gulf and Caribbean, I think there is surely cause for concern.

Yes Bob.............very rare..........it's been like a whole week since the last one spun up a low in the Northern Gulf which rained on the whole peninsula _________________ No...I am not a tropical forecaster....But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once

Wow Jeff! Way to take bob's reasoned response and put the smack-down on it with condescension and sarcasm.
You da man! I wish I was so smart I could treat everyone's ideas like the worthless opinions they are. That's much more effective than actually discussing what was said and providing insights to help folks learn something. _________________ St. James City, FL Weather

please turn down the sarcasism . I am being respectful to you and have learned from your posts over the years. Just because some new voices and thoughts are starting to be expressed should not be upsetting. Chris has been encouraging more members to post. So let's encourage them. It's been a lot more interesting with the new posters.
That's enough of that. Let's get back to what we all love to do-watch the weather! !!
