Hey Chris,
I am in Houston right now. There was a significant 'training' precip in South Houston today as ERIN exited the Gulf. There was a fatality when a roof collapsed on a grocery store sometime in mid afternoon.
I saw rain from my perspective particularly around and in the Texas Medical Center complex, but did not see mass flooding until I got near South Main and Kirby blvds. The locals were telling me that they have a bit of a problem with 'sheetflow', much like the problem they have in the San Carlos area in south Fort Myers.
AS if the rain falling from ERIN was not enough, there is an area in south Houston that finds itself undergoing this 'sheetflow' from parts of the area further north. Kind of a double whammy. Most flooding I saw was underneath overpasses of the major arteries. People trying to get up entrance ramps to the Interstate exchanges....yadayada
I enjoy the forum Chris. I'll be here throughout DEAN'S lifespan as well.

Thanks for the response Randy and good luck out in Houston if Dean heads your way. I would start getting a little bit prepared now as Dean looks like it will be heading into the Gulf. Stay safe. _________________ Chris
