Next two names on the list are Jerry and Karen.
Where do you think they will originate? Where's their birth place?
Currently there is a hint of something developing off the coast of Africa behind Ingrid. Frequency of storms over Africa will be diminishing soon. Current look at Africa confirms there are less storms over the interior. Last hurrah for Cape Verde storms?
!st major cold front of the season sweeping down through Great Lakes as far south to Georgia over the next few days. And 7-10 days down the road may bring an even stronger front- as far south as the Florida Peninsula. That time frame puts us into the last week of September which is when we usually see the 1st fronts make their way this far south (ok- maybe not till the 1st of October).
Point being, after the next week or so, attention should start to be focused on these fronts. Storms spin off them-sometimes along the east coast, sometimes off the Gulf coast.
So the question is:
Where do you think Jerry and Karen will originate?

I don't know where they will form but I can tell you when we got our first cold snap last year and the year before (05'& 06'). We all remember Wilma and that was our first front that penetrated through SW Florida which was on October 24, 2005. Exactly one year later we received our first cold front on October 24, 2006. It's amazing how weather events can sometimes repeat themselves. Take a look at the weather history to see the difference in Temp changes. Pretty interesting.

I'm talking about the 1st breath of lower humidity. It may be 88 outside but it just feels better. Not talking temps so much as HUMIDITY!
We all know it's Not the temperature , it's the HUMIDITY

Chris, your thoughts on Jerry & Karen?
Jeez... Reminds me of the old song "life goes on" by john mellencamp

Watch the southwest Caribbean for one and the development of a cut off low east of Florida for the other. Not sure which one will be first, Seinfeld or Carpenter.
Also don't write off Ingrid unless the surface circulation dissipates. _________________ LOU

From my homestate of Michigan-Marquette area of the upper peninsula:

A frost advisory remains in effect from 2 am EDT /1 am CDT/ to
8 am EDT /7 am CDT/ Saturday.
Temperatures will fall as low as 30 degrees late tonight over
interior locations well inland from the Great Lakes. Expect
temperatures closer to the moderating influence of the Great
Lakes to remain in the 35 to 40 degree range.
A frost advisory means that frost is likely. Sensitive outdoor
plants may be killed if left uncovered.
Record Report
Statement as of 8:39 PM EDT on September 14, 2007
... Daily record low maximum temperature at the Marquette National
Weather Service office...
The high temperature today at the National Weather Service in
Negaunee township was 49 degrees. This was one degree cooler than
the previous low maximum temperature record of 50 degrees for
September 14th... set in 1970.
Weather records for the National Weather Service office in Negaunee
township date back to 1961.
But temps will rebound to record highs in a couple of days!
Tuesday
Unseasonably warm. Partly cloudy. Highs 77 to 82.

Agree. Most late season storms originate in the sw carribean.
Ingrid could still surprise the upper east coast if it can survive the next few days. Where is SW 46th when you need him!?
Seinfeld or Carpenter? Right over my head.. what is that?

I'm thinking in the western Caribbean as well. It seems that a lot of late bloomers tend to develop in this area. The Cape Verde area may slow down but I still feel it needs to be watched. _________________ Chris
