It's going to take a long time to recover. Do they have any idea how long it would take to get it back up to normal levels? Seems like we would have to have one heck of a rainy season or a few TD's sitting over top of it to make a full turn around. _________________ Chris

I don't know anything about hydrology, but my water table here in the Cape has risen approximately 4 feet over the past month. It is my understanding that the beneficial rains to our north (parts of Charlotte, DeSoto and Sarasota counties have received over 8 inches since Dec. 1) are the reason. Does anyone know where the watershed for our area is actually located? Thanks.

With all the rains we've had lately I'm just curious what the lake level is now. Lou, could you post the lake level? I hear it's getting close to normal level and wanted to find out. _________________ Chris

Irrigation restrictions have been lifted in Sarasota County effective last Friday as two waterings per week are now allowed. Most of that area has received over 20 inches of rainfall since December 1st and the drought is essentially over up there. We probably will not see similar moves in Charlotte or Lee counties at least until mid-summer.
