From NWS Miami:

" HYDROLOGY.. THE INVERTED TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE OVER SOUTHERN BAHAMA ISLANDS WILL MOVE TO THE WEST TO NORTHWEST AND THROUGH SOUTH FLORIDA BY LATER THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL BRING IN DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE TO THE AREA ESPECIALLY TO THE EAST COAST AREAS WITH AROUND 2 INCHES OF PWAT. THE TROUGH WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE WEST TO NORTHWEST ON FRIDAY AND BE NORTH OF THE CWA FRIDAY NIGHT REDUCING THE PWAT VALUES DOWN BELOW 2 INCHES. A COLD FRONT WILL THEN MOVE THROUGH SOUTH FLORIDA LATE THIS WEEKEND ALLOWING FOR DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE TO RETURN TO THE CWA FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WITH PWAT VALUES ABOVE 2 INCHES OVER ALL OF THE CWA. SO WILL MENTION LOCALLY RAINS FOR THE EAST COAST AREAS THURSDAY NIGHT...AND FOR ALL OF THE CWA SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY NIGHT. THE TOTAL ACCUMULATION EXPECTED OVER SOUTH FLORIDA FOR THE NEXT 4 DAYS IS FOR THE EAST COAST AREAS SEEING ABOUT 2 TO 3 INCHES WITH ISOLATED AREAS SEEING 4 INCHES...AND 1 TO 2 INCHES WITH ISOLATED AREAS SEEING 3 INCHES FOR REST OF THE CWA. THEREFORE...THIS SHOULD HELP TO PUT SOMEWHAT OF A DENT INTO THE DROUGHT CONDITIONS OVER THE INTERIOR AND WEST COAST AREAS. "

From NWS Key West

"AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE KEY WEST FL
358 PM EST WED DEC 12 2007

.DISCUSSION...
IT LOOKS LIKE WE ARE ABOUT TO ENTER A CLOUDIER...WETTER...AND MORE
CHANGEABLE WEATHER PATTERN OVER THE NEXT FOUR OR FIVE DAYS. FIRST...A
LOW-LEVEL TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED DEEP MOISTURE FIELD ASSOCIATED WITH
TROPICAL DEPRESSION OLGA WILL BE QUICKLY APPROACHING THE FLORIDA KEYS
TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. RAIN CHANCES WILL INCREASE MARKEDLY BY THURSDAY
AFTERNOON WITH THUNDERSTORMS ENTERING THE FORECAST FOR THE FIRST TIME
IN AWHILE. SKY COVER WILL ALTERNATE BETWEEN CLOUDY AND PARTLY CLOUDY
STARTING LATE THURSDAY AND LASTING INTO THE WEEKEND. THE HIGHEST RAIN
CHANCES WITH THE OLGA TROUGH SHOULD BE THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. THE
SECOND SYSTEM OF INTEREST IS A COLD FRONT WHICH WILL BE APPROACHING
THE FLORIDA KEYS EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. FORECAST CONFIDENCE IS NOW
INCREASING WITH REGARD TO A CLEAN FRONTAL PASSAGE AND ASSOCIATED
WEATHER AND WIND SHIFT. THE PRESENCE OF ENHANCED TROPICAL MOISTURE
ASSOCIATED WITH THE OLGA TROUGH WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASED CHANCE FOR
SHOWER(S) AND THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY IN ADVANCE
OF THE COLD FRONT. A FORMIDABLE CONTINENTAL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL
LIKELY DRIVE FRESH NORTH BREEZES BEHIND THE COLD FRONT. THE NORTH
BREEZES WILL LIKELY TURN NORTHEAST AND REMAIN FRESH INTO EARLY NEXT
WEEK.

WE HAVE INCREASED POPS ACROSS THE BOARD FOR THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY
AND ADDED THUNDER TO SEVERAL OF THESE PERIODS OWING TO THE OLGA
TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED DEEP MOISTURE FIELD EARLY IN THE PERIOD AND
THEN THE APPROACHING TROUGH AND COLD FRONT LATER IN THE PERIOD."
