In the last couple month's we've been seeing an occasional coyote running around our neighborhood. We live in the swcape near Chiquita and Trafalgar. They seem to be getting more fearless with a bigger population, I just took out my garbage and there was one standing in my neighbors back yard. It ran across the street when it saw me, down my lotline and proceeded to growl and snarl at my dog in the back yard. Luckily we have a fence or I don't know what would've happened. I called Lee Animal Control and they acknowleged that there has been coyotes in the Cape and they told me to call Florida Fish and Wildlfie. I'm off to call them I'll keep everyone updated on the situation.

Talked to the FWC and they said as long as the animal didn't hurt or kill anything it's out of thier hands. The lady was nice and said the coyote was in it's natural habitat. Maybe they'll start hunting monitor lizards, or the family pet.

I make deliveries during the night in many Cape Coral areas and have seen coyote's in several different locations. The most recent areas were along Veterans between Pine Island Rd and Chiquita, the intersection of Pine Island Rd & Chiquita, the intersection of Kismet & Del Prado and just recently crossing Pine Island Rd in front of BJ's Wholesale.
