Wind speed for Fort Myers Beach

This is a really great site.
You are doing a great job.
It would be nice if you could post the wind speeds for Fort Myers Beach. It seems that the wind reported from Cape Harbor is many times much less than it is here at the beach.
I notice that the Big Carlos Pass Bridge has wind speed equipment on the tenders shack. Could this be accessed?

Thanks for the feedback. At this time we do not have a station setup in Fort Myers - just in the Cape. Sad

I would imagine the wind speeds may be a little higher on Fort Myers Beach since the wind is coming directly off the coast without any obstructions. This is just a guess. The one thing you may want to take a look at is our current map. I do see a few stations setup near Iona and South Fort Myers which may help you.

As far as the station you are talking about on top of Big Carlos Pass. That data is probably kept local and not shared on the internet. They have a similar setup on the Matlacha bridge and I have yet to see any data from it. Hope this helps.
