Very slow approach of the frontal boundary from our NW should allow for prolonged period of lifting and resultant convective activity. Latent moisture on Sunday may lead to another round of showers and storms in the afternoon. Widespread 1 to 2 inch rainfall totals throughout our area with up to 4 inches in "lucky" spots.
Given April is our driest month, this rainfall is slowly ebbing away at the persistent drought. I'm no hydrology expert, but it is my understanding that some of the areas to our north and east that have received far-above normal rainfall this winter comprise our watershed and that water tables have been on the rise.
