While moisture continues to increase at all levels (PWATs around 1.7 today), the southerly wind flow will probably not interact quite as well with the diurnal seabreezes, so I'd expect a little less lifting as the collisions are no longer directly "head on". With that said, the southerly flow does bring a slight risk of tornadic activity in the stronger cells that do develop, especially in the bay areas of Tampa and Charlotte.
Yesterday's slow-moving storms further increased the disparity in the 2008 rainfall totals. Much of southern Sarasota and northern Charlotte counties are up over 15 inches since Jan. 1 and my station in North Port is now at 19.11. I haven't even broken the 6-inch mark yet in Cape Coral.
