if the models are somewhat accurate, how does this sw turn that most of the models did not predict affect the landfall point. Would that make it further to the left like alabama or closer to the big bend area of florida?

It ultimately could not make any difference in the actual path. If you remember Charley headed NE towards Sanibel then took a hard left NW right before making landfall only to turn back on the same NE course after getting 20 miles away in port charlotte. This storm is running for the water as I expected and may only be a temporary trend, but if it doesnt quickly slow down when it hits water in several hours it most likely will not hug the coast around here and could wind up 150-200 miles away when it passes our latitude
