Despite Thursday's disappointing rainfall totals, I'm still enthusiastic about the likelihood of widespread thunderstorms throughout our area again today. PWATs are a tad lower, but this may actually work in favor of a wetter outcome. The simple difference may be the little bit of veiled sunshine poking through this morning. We just didn't get any seabreeze at all yesterday and that is crucial to achieve our lifting.

Yeah today's rainfall was awesome in some areas of Lee, but I am still waiting for Charlotte County to get a substantial amount of rain.

Hi Pilot,
Your wish may come true! The seabreeze subsided and those storms that fired up inland are starting to drift toward the coast. Should be an interesting night if they hold together.

Wow. Those storms vanished faster than a lightning strike. Sad

What's with these thunderstorms popping up in Collier county after sunset even where there wasn't much cloud cover beforehand?

There weren't many thunderstorms in the afternoon because there was an inversion layer (and there probably will be again tomorrow) just above where the cumulus clouds start forming, inhibiting cloud buildup (a CINH above 50 is hard to break through).
