I'm moving to the Cape august 1st and wanted to know if anyone could possibly help me with information about local things to do. Where are the beaches? What is there for family to do? Is there a good website to visit?
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi Coyote,
The beaches would be my first recommendation to check out. Sanibel Island is a very nice beach to visit but you pay a big toll to cross the bridge. It's worth it though once you get on the island..its really pretty. Fort Myers Beach is more entertaining with shops 50 yards away and plenty of nice restaurants to eat at. The Cape Coral Pier beach is kind of small but it is a cool place to hang out and have a bbq. They used to allow you to grill out on the beach but I'm not sure if you still can.
For entertainment in the Cape I would recommend Sunsplash waterpark if you have kids. Ofcourse its probably doesn't compare to the waterparks in Orlando but it is a nice place to spend the day.

http://www.flguide.com has some cool links to things to do in the area. The Cape itselft does not have an extremely large amount of attractions to see.
And shopping is nearby!
Edison Mall & Bell Tower Shops in Ft Myers
Coconut Point & Miromar Outlets in Estero
Big flea market in Ft Myers on the weekends, but is "mall" isn't air conditioned http://www.fleamall.com/
