This is the 18Z GFS at 144 hrs. One system approaching the Windward Islands and a second system to the east.

The satellite pic below shows three areas in the east Atlantic in close proximity which is confusing the models. They are jumping back and forth trying to decide which one will develop. It appears that the GFS is keying on the center disturbance which is at approximately 35W. It may take a few more runs to sort this out.

Do not participate in flaming wars. We are all here to learn and to have fun!

This site relys on a great deal of data from the NWS and the NHC which should be noted on our homepage and in our forums. Please refrain from any type of negative input you may feel the NWS or the NHC may have caused due to error on their part. We respect the opinions that are given on the forum but we also respect the data that they provide to us for public information. If you would like to discuss this personally then please PM me. I am open for private discussion. I do not want this to be a thread that I need to reply to nor do I want to rebump the thread for a reminder. This is not directed toward ANYBODY but is a way to avoid any confusion in further matters that concern data provided by the NHC or NWS. Thanks for understanding and cooperating.

It appears the NHC agrees with my thoughts. I would expect an Invest soon.

The squall line/tropical wave that is about to exit West Africa also looks significant. The "sail on a sailboat" shape that it has is an indication of organization and energy. This is only an intuitive perception, based perhaps on past experience. Time will prove it right or wrong.

Agree, looks pretty good and should get mentioned by the NHC after the whole system clears the coast. Here's the latest pic of the three Amigos.
