There is still a residual trough and associated moisture in the western Caribbean. I expect something to kick up south of Cuba in a few days. This one could affect Florida by late next week. Lou, is the MJO still in the "wet phase?"

There is only a small area of the MJO left in the Atlantic basin and it happens to be in the western Caribbean. Some of the models (GFS, CMC, UKMET, NAM) are showing tropical development in the southwest Caribbean next week. This will be the last chance for an MJO enhanced system to develop this year. _________________ LOU

This is the area to watch. It contains some of the energy and remnants of TD 16 which is over central america. There is now a 1010 mb low pressure center near coastal Belize which should drop to 1008 mb by tomorrow.
