Come on, we just had like 10 inches of rain. There is more standing water that there is in July out there. I don’t think you could start a wildfire with a bucket of gasoline and a box of matches. There has been so much rain that we actually have sheet flow going on.

I think the NWS bases this on the low amount of relative humidity about to occur, not the amount of standing water. I definitely see your point though as the ground does seem pretty saturated. Red Flag's usually occur right after a front when the high pressure starts to build. It does seem like summer when you see all the standing water. _________________ Chris
