Tropical development in April is so rare that you have to go back to the 1800s to find anything resembling a tropical or sub-tropical system in the Atlantic basin. So could it happen? Well, all 4 global models think so. The GFS, EURO, CMC, and NOGAPS are all forecasting tropical or more likely sub-tropical development in the general vicinity of Bermuda next week. Here's a look at all 4 models at the 144 hour mark.

The LOW that the models have been predicting since last week has developed and is now Invest 91L.
35.1N, 57.3W, Winds 40 Kts, Pressure 1004 MB. Currently classified as extra-tropical. If it can maintain itself for awhile and build enough convection near the center the NHC will upgrade it to a sub-tropical storm.
