1:37 pm ...58 kts.
1:57 pm...plane is in NE quad and I see nothing that would cause an upgrade to Hurricane status at this time. Need to find flight level winds of at least 70 kts.
2:30 pm...59 kts ne quad.
2:41 pm...61 kts north quad. _________________ This post is for discussion purposes only. Please refer to the National Hurricane Center for official information.

| It is not a hurricane yet, but as far as I can see from the satellite loops, it looks like it is wobbeling in the last hours with a tendency to more Westerly movement than North-West as indicated in the NOAA report. If this direction continues, I only hope that the forecasts to recurving the path are right, if not.... |

| Seems like there's been ‘‘something’’ this year that has inhibited all the storms from fully developing. That's a good thing though! |

Yes Mike, it's been a hostile environment for any wannabe tropical systems. It seems the biggest inhibitor has been the large amount of upper level lows that have developed this year. We can use a quiet season. BTW, it appears Florence noticed recon leaving and has decided to ramp up while the plane is gone.
