A surface low is developing just north of the Yucatan along the stalled front and should move to the east northeast bringing rain and thunderstorms tomorrow. Here's the 18Z GFS at 18 hours and 24 hours.

Lou, thanks for that update! Do you have any approximate time it might start raining tomorrow? I'm heading out boating tomorrow but plan on being back in by 3. I hope that is early enough to avoid the rains.

I can't see any significant rainfall here during the early AM. In fact, we may not see any at all until after the noon to 2PM time frame. If NAM verifies, it will not be until even later. Hopefully we can bust a trend here and get some significant moisture out of this little system later in the day tomorrow. We need it so badly.

Showers building about 100 miles offshore and moving NE. Doesn't appear to have to much lightning in it right now. Will keep an eye out.

Here is a good doppler radar site to use. It updates every 5 minutes where as most radar sites only update every 10 to 15 minutes. If you move your cursor around on the radar image, it will highlight an area and you click onto it and it will give you a closer view of that area. Move your cursor around again to the area you want to zoom in on and now it will be at the street level. Be careful and drive safe. This will be the first good rains in a while so the roads will be slick from the car oils, etc, mostly at the stop signs and traffic lights and also be careful not to hydroplane on roads that have ponding of water.

Rain moving into Captiva, Boca Grande, and approaching Pine Island. Large area of moderate rain with embedded heavy cells approaching the coastal waters.

Much of that not reaching the surface until we moisten up a bit. Dewpoints still only around 60, but rising, so this should be a very rainy afternoon, especially up in Charlotte and Sarasota counties.

Latest visible satellite pic. Area of heavy rain approaching and a line of strong thunderstorms moving north from the keys.

Thank you Lou! The rain was minimal but we did catch some fish.
