Ok I am writing this post to see what you guys think will happen to Bertha ? I will be in Miami for my son's surgery from the 9th-20th and would like to know if there will be any impact on the Miami area ?
I think that may be a little hard to determine this early in the ballgame Mike. I would continue to monitor the system the next several days to see if it starts to curve more to the north. Hopefully it doesn't affect us and you can get your son the medical treatment he needs without having to worry about a possible TC in our area. Anybody else have thoughts on this? _________________ Chris

I think the probability of any meaningful impact on Miami is very low. Besides, anything called Bertha is aimed for the Carolinas. This would be the 3rd one to impact them, though I still think she recurves just in time. Could be close though. Also on the table is the stall off the coast for a few days which would increase the chance of an East Coast landfall but this is a week off so lets not get ahead of ourselves. As a betting man, I'd take Halifax over Miami as far as impact is concerned _________________ No...I am not a tropical forecaster....But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once
Bertha is still many days away and has to currently survive low SST's followed by an onslaught of wind shear to even survive the journey. _________________ This post is for discussion purposes only. Please refer to the National Hurricane Center for official information.
