At 980 MB and deepening, I thought sure hurricane warnings would be issued at 5 PM..Folks from Charleston, and north need
to get ready.
Those with common sense are pulling boats up here on Cape Cod. No hurricane here, but a tropical storm. I expect some power losses.
If you look at the UKMET........this storm keeps on exploding up the coast even while inland due to the favorable dynamics.

Looking at the surface observations it appears that Hanna is transitioning to sub-tropical. Highest winds well away from the center while the lowest pressures are near the center. Last vortex from the previous plane showed a flat temperature profile at the center. This recon flight will be Hanna's last chance to become a Hurricane. Recon plane is approaching from the south. _________________ This post is for discussion purposes only. Please refer to the National Hurricane Center for official information.

This is the best she's looked since she was out by Ike....If she does go sub-tropical, the UKMET could have some validity with it's intensification inland up the coast. Who would guess SNE would get the worst effects of a storm inland from SC _________________ No...I am not a tropical forecaster....But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once

Lou,
Can it become extra-tropical while sitting on 80+ water?
Rich, I said sub-tropical. Big difference. _________________ This post is for discussion purposes only. Please refer to the National Hurricane Center for official information.

Recon showing pressure of 982 MB, surface winds 67 kts recorded by SFMR. The NHC may pull the trigger. _________________ This post is for discussion purposes only. Please refer to the National Hurricane Center for official information.
