If you are anyplaceon the Cape besides the Far north/center...........have plans ready to leave the area as the lack of storm surge from Charley is not likely to occur again and 10-15 feet of water would swamp the Cape if a Cat 3 storm creeped just offshore...........REMEMBER...IT DOES NOT COST ANYTHING TO RESERVE A HOTEL ROOM IN ADVANCE AS LONG AS YOU CANCEL IT WITHIN 24 HRS.......better safe than sorry as all available rooms within hundreds of miles will be booked if this track materializes........not to mention the rates will go up quicker than the gasoline.....Which is another good point.....FILL UP EVERYTHING AND KEEP TOPPING IT OFF AS YOU USE IT THIS WEEK...until hopefully it becomes apparent the storm will not directly hit SW FLA.....I know they tell you not to hoarde, but if you need to get out quickly, and supplies are low........you are screwed as there is only 1 long way out of Florida and everyone is going to be taking it along with you....Traffic moves better late at night, so if you are headed to GA, you might want to drive in the wee hrs. of the morning so you are not in a parking lot the whole way up...........I am NOT trying to scare you , but make sure you PREPARE FOR THE WORST AND HOPE FOR THE BEST..
