Jeff, Right now I'm looking at the East Atlantic Satellite as to what appears to be a big wave moving off of Africa to the west around 10 degrees. I dont know what to make of it but it looks like it might have potential. Whats your take on it? Heres a link.

Well it looks like the NHC is taking a close look at what I saw on the satellite imagery. I just got the 11pm advisory and from what they say its favorable for formation. Will have to keep an eye on it. I posted the advisory below.
A LOW PRESSURE CENTER ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE IS PRODUCING A
LARGE AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER ABOUT 400 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THIS SYSTEM
IS GRADUALLY BECOMING BETTER ORGANIZED...AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
COULD FORM DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT MOVES TOWARD THE
WEST-NORTHWEST OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC.

Chris,
You are right indeed regarding that wave which IMO is already TS Irene. It just takes awhile for the NHC to catch up. While this is an impressive mass that far East, the fact that it is already moving WNW almost definitely places SW FLA out of danger. Actually, the trof created by Harvey should turn this system prematurely North and out of harms way for everyone..................
