The significance of the Bermuda high (aside from its impact on tropical systems) is that our predominant upper-and-mid-level wind direction will be from the ESE. This really helps get the seabreeze interactions going and the coastal communities receive bountiful rainfall. This high is likely to remain in place for a sustained period, so all of us in SW Florida should see copious amounts of rain over the next 10 days or so.

Today saw good activity for most of SW Florida all the way up to Tampa. The storms seemed to build out in the Gulf and rolled in all afternoon. Some were pretty severe but most were weak. Maybe we will have another repeat day tomorrow but hopefully not at night. _________________ Chris
