Hello,

Do you have a question about hurricanes and tropical cyclones?

Well, if you are reading this then you know we just created a new forum for Hurricane and Tropical Cyclone Frequently Asked Questions. If you have a general question about how something works (Saffir-Simpson Scale, What is an invest?, Steering currents, which hurricane model is the best) please ask it on this forum. During the hurricane season, when it is very busy, it can become very difficult to answer all the questions. So to make life a little easier we created this forum for easy access and a way to build a library of topics with some of the most frequently asked questions.

So, if you have a question that is related to tropical cyclones you know where to post now. Very Happy

All topics pertaining to the current hurricane season can be kept there.

Thanks everybody and we look forward to helping. Wink

Why did they change the old level(1-5) Scales to the new lower wind speed equals a hurricane?

Hi John. This is the link to the Saffir-Simpson Scale. I'm not aware of any changes.

Maybe you are referring to the new Fujita scale?
