Define encountered, I have been close numerous times, but up until charley the worse I had seen was the no-name storm in 85. Had pretty good blow from a TS one thanksgiving but cant remember the year. Had alot of tree damage from Wilma, actually more then Charley.

I am new to this forum. Have lived in Cape Coral F/T since 1993. Came from Smithtown NY on Long Island. I have had an interest in all things weather since the eye of Hurricane Gloria passed over my home when I was a junior in high school. It was quite an experience. Also in the Cape for Charley. Went to Ocala for Wilma.
I came upon this forum yesterday while reading a news-press blog. I normally don't post much to these types of sites, but I think this is a great site and wanted to let you know that. I've been reading posts and find them interesting and insightful. Thanks for putting this information out there. It also makes it easy to see the latest on any tropical cyclones that may (or may not) be developing. Thanks for your efforst and please keep it going! Thanks again!

Dropped down to Naples to see Hurricane Bob. Many tropical storms, recent storms like Charley> Also Isodore a few years ago in Biloxi and Rita in Nassau. Always wanted to be a TV weather guy! Took some meterology and climatology classes at Wayne State in Detroit. But the math got ahead of me. No computers in the late 60's early 70's-everything had to be done the LOOONNNGGG way!
